Tim Bush
Group President of DisplaySearch
Tim is responsible for managing the overall sales and operations and for expanding global coverage for DisplaySearch, an NPD Group company. Before taking on his new role with DisplaySearch, Bush was vice president of Business Development at NPD and managed the DisplaySearch acquisition in the fall of 2005. Prior to that, he was president of NPD Houseworld where he managed overall operations for NPD's Appliance and Home Products Divisions. Tim came to NPD as the General Manager of the Consumer Electronic Business. Prior to joining NPD, Bush held executive positions at American Express, ACNielsen, and Information Resources. Ross Young
Founder and President of DisplaySearch
Prior to founding DisplaySearch in 1996, Ross served in senior marketing positions at OWL Displays, Brooks Automation, Fusion Semiconductor and GCA in the driver IC, flat panel automation, etch and strip and lithography markets respectively. Since founding DisplaySearch, Ross has made multiple appearances on television including NBC’s The Today Show as a display industry expert and has been an invited speaker at over 30 different conferences including a keynote speaker at multiple conferences worldwide. He has also been quoted in all major business and video publications including Business Week, Forbes, Fortune, the New York Times, USA Today and the Wall Street Journal. Ross received The NPD Group’s prestigious John Byington Award for outstanding creativity and innovation in November 2006, was appointed to the Board of Directors at Westar Display Technologies in February 2005 and was named to the VLSI Research Executive All-Star Team in 1994. While in graduate school, he authored a book on U.S.-Japan high tech competition entitled Silicon Sumo: U.S.-Japan Competition and Industrial Policy in the Semiconductor Equipment Industry, published by the University of Texas, which offered a unique perspective on U.S.-Japan competition. Ross attended the University of California at San Diego (UCSD), Australia's University of New South Wales, UCSD's Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies and Japan's Tohoku University. Satoshi (Sam) Matsuno
Senior Vice President of DisplaySearch
Satoshi (Sam) Matsuno has 15 years of display experience at Matsushita and Compaq in the US and Japan. For 10 years, Sam held senior display-related positions at Compaq in strategic planning, display procurement, market research and flat panel engineering. He was an invited speaker at FPD conferences around the world including LCD International, Electronic Display Forum (keynote) and Fine Process Technology. He has also been published in most Japanese display magazines including Nikkei Microdevices, Nikkei's Flat Panel Display Yearbook, Electronic Journal and Press Journal. In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Matsuno pioneered the industry's first LCD/CRT price penetration curve and coined the term "mega-note." Barry Young
Senior Vice President of DisplaySearch
Barry was CEO and President of OWL Displays where he co-developed innovative driver technology. He was awarded a key patent on an innovative architecture for driving low temperature polysilicon TFT LCDs. Prior to OWL, he was Vice President and General Manager for Tandem's Integrity System's Division where he grew the division to over $200 million in revenues in just three years. He has also served as: Managing Partner at one of the leading management consultant firms in the world, Booz Allen & Hamilton; Executive Vice President with Wells Fargo Bank; and Senior Vice President at Citibank. In banking, he managed both company systems and customer operations divisions. He also served as President of Lexar, an early developer of an all-digital PBX. He has more than 30 years of senior management and marketing experience in high technology with extensive interaction in Japan. He has had articles published in multiple technical display journals, and has spoken worldwide on the display industry. Barry is one of the industry's leading authorities on OLEDs, has authored all of DisplaySearch's OLED reports and has visited all OLED manufacturers worldwide. Yoshio Tamura
Senior Vice President of DisplaySearch
Yoshio Tamura joined DisplaySearch in February of 2000 from a competing Tokyo-based market research firm, Techno Systems Research, where he served as a market analyst for seven years in positions of increasing responsibility. He maintains excellent relationships with panel suppliers and key component suppliers, resulting in the publication of extremely informative and popular reports on actual TFT LCD shipments worldwide by quarter. He has been an invited speaker at multiple display conferences in Japan and Taiwan and has a Bachelors degree in International Economics from Chuo University. David Hsieh
Vice President of the Greater China Market
David came to DisplaySearch from HannStar Display, a leading TFT LCD producer, where he was most recently a key account manager responsible for both notebook and LCD monitor accounts. Prior to two years in HannStar's sales and marketing department, Hsieh served for a total of five years as production planner and production engineer at HannStar's TFT LCD module line and Hitachi Kaohsiung's STN LCD module line. Hsieh is fluent in Taiwanese, Mandarin, Japanese and English and holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Chung-Yuan Christian University. David Hsieh may be reached at david@displaysearch.com.

Chris Connery
Vice President of PC and Large Format Commercial Displays
Chris manages the group covering notebook PCs, desktop computer monitors, professional/commercial displays and digital signage at DisplaySearch. He joined the company with over thirteen years of experience in FPD computer displays, including a wide range of responsibilities in product development, line management and marketing. He was most recently the director of marketing and product management for NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display where he helped establish their market-driven product, channel and market segmentation strategies for both the NEC and Mitsubishi brands of LCD and CRT computer monitors. Chris was also responsible for strategies in new large-format LCD display applications such as digital signage and flight information displays. While there, he managed products both developed internally, and outsourced from Taiwanese, Korean and Japanese manufacturers. Prior to the NEC and Mitsubishi joint venture, he was the LCD monitor product line manager for market leader NEC Technologies, where he helped create the early LCD desktop monitor market. Before NEC Technologies, Chris served as the portable computer group product manager for Zenith Data Systems' notebook computers and related peripherals, including the first removable LCD computer displays. He began his career in the value added reseller channel with Veritechnology Electronics (Heath/Zenith), where he held positions in systems engineering and marketing support. Charles Annis
Vice President of FPD Manufacturing Research
Charles is responsible for tracking and forecasting investments in FPD fabs as well as researching trends and technology driving FPD equipment and materials markets. Prior to joining DisplaySearch, Charles spent six years at leading AMLCD yield management provider Photon Dynamics and was responsible for strategic planning and business development, identifying growth opportunities for the company and managing due diligence. Over the years, in various positions at Photon Dynamics, Charles was also in charge of market research and product marketing of automated cell/module inspection tools. Previously, he was the international business manager at SAMCO International, a semiconductor equipment manufacturer in Kyoto, Japan. Charles holds a Master's in Business Law from Ryukoku University in Kyoto, and a Bachelor's from Pomona College in Claremont, California. He is fluent in English and Japanese. David Barnes
Vice President of Strategic Analysis
David has thirty years experience managing and advising electronics manufacturers. He joined the company from Philips and LG.Philips LCD where he advised managing directors, board members and shareholders on industry structure, opportunity and risk. As the author of more than $10B of funded capital plans, David also crafted the storyline for LPL's initial public offering and supported investment banking teams. David was the product manager at Photon Dynamics who created the ArrayChecker and ArraySaver products, widely used systems for TFT test and repair. A Silicon Valley native, David worked for National Semiconductor while attending Cupertino High School and returned to the electronics industry after attending the University of California at Santa Cruz. He specialized in manufacturing test and device characterization, culminating in managing business units that validated the 386, 486 and Pentium microprocessors. After that, only the flat-panel display industry could offer more excitement. David will bring this experience to custom consulting projects. He will also write executive reports analyzing industry structure and microeconomics. David has worked in Asia for many years and now lives in Hong Kong. Hisakazu Torii
Vice President of Japanese TV Market Research
Hisakazu Torii brings 18 years of display industry experience from Mitsubishi Electric to DisplaySearch, predominantly in sales and marketing. His various responsibilities have included conducting market research for product groups, business planning and new product development in all major display applications, including TVs, notebook PCs, monitors, mobile phones, digital still cameras, digital video recorders, automotive displays and industrial applications. While at Mitsubishi, he helped determine the future product development strategies for such customers as AST, Compaq, DEC, Dell, Gateway, HP, IBM, Silicon Graphics, Sun Microsystems, Tandy and Zenith. Eddie Taylor
Vice President of TV Market Research and TV Team Leader
Eddie Taylor joined DisplaySearch after eight years at Sony Electronics in their display and TV businesses. Most recently, he was in charge of Business Planning and Operations within Sony's TV group where he had responsibility for pricing, demand forecasting and supply chain planning. He managed business planning and operations for nine different TV technology categories and played a critical role in launching the BRAVIA and SXRD sub-brands. During his tenure at Sony, he also managed Sony's relationships with traditional retail channels, IT distribution/reseller channels and large OEM customers in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Chile. At DisplaySearch, Eddie will be responsible for DisplaySearch's suite of TV reports which continue to grow in terms of regional coverage, granularity and frequency. He will also play a critical role in DisplaySearch's TV-related event and consulting businesses. Eddie graduated from the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies at the University of California at San Diego, worked and studied in Japan and Korea and is conversational in both Japanese and Korean. Dale Maunu
Vice President
Dale joined DisplaySearch with over 22 years of display experience, including engineering, sales, marketing and product management. His first ten years in the industry was related to CRT Monitors and the last twelve years was related to LCDs. He previously served as Director of Marketing for Flat Panel Displays at Mitsubishi Electric America, and most recently was Director of Marketing, Procurement, MIS and Contracts at Optrex America. He has authored numerous articles on display related topics and has spoken at various industry conferences. Vish Nayak
Vice President of TV and Display Electronics
Vish has over 15 years of experience in creating multimedia, consumer and networking semiconductor solutions focused primarily on sales, marketing and business development functions. Previously he was a consultant and a key contributor to sales, product planning, definition and marketing programs targeted at emerging consumer electronics market opportunities including PC-TV MediaServers, wireless portable mobile entertainment, communications and productivity platforms. He has more than 5 years of experience consulting at various Silicon Valley start-ups and Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Nayak was instrumental in founding Sony's Multimedia Semiconductor Business Unit, focused primarily on developing semiconductor products and driving revenue and business development initiatives for Digital TVs, set-top boxes and IEEE-1394 (Firewire) products. He also worked for NEC Electronics managing field applications and product line management for the digital video and audio lines of business. Mr. Nayak holds an MBA from Santa Clara University and an MS in Electrical Engineering from University of Mississippi. Mitsuhiro (Mickey) Kato
Vice President of Sales & Marketing
Mitsuhiro (Mickey) Kato had 10 years of TFT LCD process equipment sales and marketing experience at Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL), one of the leading producers of FPD manufacturing equipment. Mickey held critical positions at TEL, including sales and marketing for plasma dry etching and plasma CVD systems. He has a wealth of relationships with TFT LCD producers and equipment suppliers and significant experience in conducting strategic market surveys. Hiroshi Hayase
Director of Small/Medium Displays
Hiroshi has nearly 20 years of experience in the LCD industry, with a professional background that includes sales and marketing management, production and product engineering, as well as market research and analysis. Prior to joining DisplaySearch, Hiroshi worked with Wintek Japan Corporation as marketing manager, where he was also responsible for sales and Japan market research for this Taiwanese LCD panel/module manufacturer. Prior to that, he was sales manager with Applied Komatsu Technology (AKT) where he was responsible for sales of CVD systems to major Japanese panel producers. Previously, Hiroshi held positions in sales management and production engineering with Seiko Epson, where he was involved in design engineering and the full range of LCD production processes, working there for over 13 years. Throughout his career, he has been associated with a wide array of FPD applications, including consumer electronics, telecommunications, and car electronics in Asia and North America. John Jacobs
Director of Notebook Market Research
John joined the company with four years of experience in LCD displays and a diverse background in marketing and business analysis. He was a Global Supply Manager at Apple Computer, where he had responsibility for Flat Panel Displays and DRAM. John was responsible for strategic sourcing decisions; pricing and contract negotiations; evaluation and analysis of the supply base; and investigation of new display technologies. He managed the growth of Apple's LCD product line from four projects/systems to more than a dozen displays ranging from the small STN displays used in the iPod to the 23" Cinema HD monitor display. Jin Kim
Director of TFT LCD Market Research
Prior to joining DisplaySearch, JIn served as Senior Marketing Manager at LG.Philips LCD for three years handling all aspects of marketing including technical marketing, product marketing, competitive analysis, strategic marketing and consumer behavior analysis. After graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in Peace and Conflict Studies, he went on to receive an MBA from Peter Drucker Graduate School of Management with a dual concentration in Marketing and Strategy. Before serving in the Republic of Korea Army, he was Product Manager for a line of 3D graphics accelerators at Jazz Multimedia. Arie Braun

Bing Zhang

Bing Zhang joined DisplaySearch after five years at Konka, a leading TV and mobile phone maker. Mark Schutter
Director of Channel Market Research
Mark came to DisplaySearch with over 20 years of experience in the television industry spanning retail, marketing and manufacturing. Mark held sales and management positions in the retail channel before taking a position at Mitsubishi Electronics of America. While at Mitsubishi, his responsibilities included technical and sales training, technical writing and product development. Following his years at Mitsubishi, he entered the manufacturing realm, marketing an early PDP under the Revox brand. He then served as Display Product Manager working in partnership with Photonics, assisting in the conversion of their military display manufacturing operation to a consumer model. Brian Chen
Director of Taiwan and China TFT LCD Market Research
Brian joined DisplaySearch with six years experience in the Taiwan display and IT industry. Hyun-Seung (HS) Ahn

As director of global strategic marketing for four years at AKT, Inc. in United States, HS was responsible for market intelligence, market forecast, technical marketing, marketing communication and strategic alliances. During seven years in the TFT-LCD business at Samsung Electronics in Korea, HS did strategic product planning, global marketing, investment strategic planning for next generation substrates, and managed international strategic alliances. Shoichi Hiramatsu
Deputy Director of Sales & Marketing (Japan)
Shoichi Hiramatsu came to DisplaySearch with over 10 years of experience in TFT LCD process equipment sales at Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL), one of the leading producers of FPD manufacturing equipment. Hiramatsu held many critical positions at TEL, including sales of Coater and Developer and Automatic Optical Inspection systems from Orbotech Israel. Paul Gagnon
Director of North American TV Research
Paul came to DisplaySearch with 10 years of experience in the Consumer Electronics industry, both on the retail and manufacturing side, adding value and insight to DisplaySearch’s industry leading analysis. He most recently worked as Sr. Marketing Analyst for Hitachi America LTD’s Home Electronics Division, forecasting and analyzing volatile TV and Video market trends. His responsibilities included weekly and monthly market analysis, competitive information tracking and extensive involvement in product and strategic planning. Deborah Yang
Director of Taiwan and China Display Market Research
Deborah joined DisplaySearch with more than 10 years of experience in Royal Philips Electronics. Deborah was most recently a business intelligence manager at Philips Consumer Electronics, where she worked in the Flat Panel Purchasing Department in Philips CE Business Group. In Philips, she used FPD industry intelligence to evaluate and analyze the flat panel supply base for strategic sourcing decisions and business planning, which helped her build good relationships with many industry people in Taiwan, Japan and Korea. Prior to this position, Deborah served in the Displays Project Management Group; as the project leader in the LCD Task Force Team, she developed and formulated of the supply knowledge base for LCD monitors and TVs, and studied leading edge technologies. Previously, Deborah held the position of Senior Market Analyst in Philips’ Consumer & Market Intelligence group for three and half years. She received an award for her research at Philips in 2006 and was a nominee for the Royal Philips Electronics PD PBE Best Practice Award. Kevin Liao
Director of Taiwan Small/Medium Display and OLED Market Research
Kevin joined DisplaySearch with seven years of experience at the Industry Technology Research Institute, a leading technology and development center in Taiwan. At ITRI, Kevin conducted market and technology research on a wide variety of subjects related to small/medium displays including TFT LCD, STN, TN LCD and OLED display technologies, as well as display and end-product cost structures, and market and technology trends. Kevin also played important roles in many special projects jointly developed by industrial companies and ITRI. In recognition of his efforts on the Taiwan small/medium market, Kevin received an award from Taiwan’s Ministry of the Economic Affairs and numerous awards from the Industrial Technology and Intelligence Service. Heather Spindler
Director of Online & Product Marketing
Heather has 10 years experience in product management and implementation of complex initiatives for various industries, both in the United States and overseas, particularly in the area of new product and new business programs. Ms. Spindler joins DisplaySearch from PricewaterhouseCoopers' advisory practice, where she worked as a consultant conducting business, financial and operations planning for high tech initiatives. Ms. Spindler will be responsible for managing DisplaySearch's technology and product marketing as well as leading the implementation of DisplaySearch's expanding product and service offerings. Michelle Lo
Director of Marketing (China)
Michelle is Taiwanese and joined DisplaySearch with more than seven years management experience in marketing, public relations, procurement, sales and HR in China. Lo participated in the InfoVision start-up and served as purchasing manager and sales manager at TFT LCD firm InfoVision Optoelectronics. Prior to InfoVision, Lo set up and ran the Shanghai branch of Taiwanese research company TRI before managing PR for semiconductor company Spirox Shanghai. Her new role covers events planning and operations in Taiwan and China, and public relations, sales and marketing, and collecting FPD industry market information in China. Tadashi Uno
Director of Materials and Components
Prior to joining DisplaySearch, Tadashi Uno was Assistant Manager, Division of Operations Planning in Display Components Operations for DaiNippon Printing Co, Ltd in Tokyo. In this role, he was responsible for market reports and forecasts on DNP Display components. In addition, he was the primary contact for glass makers, CCFL makers, driver IC makers, other component manufacturers, TV set manufacturers, PC manufacturers and market research companies. Yoonsung Chung

YS joined DisplaySearch after 10 years on the R&D Team of Samsung SDI’s CRT and PDP Division. YS managed PDP Product Planning and Technology Marketing for five years, led the FPD benchmarking team in the PDP Division for three years, and taught Samsung SDI's new employees about display history and technologies over three years. Luke Yao
Director of Lighting Technology & Market Research
Luke joined DisplaySearch with over six years experience in the lighting market with the Industry Technology Research Institute in Taiwan. Most recently, Paul worked as a Supervising Market Analyst within IMS Research’s Connected Home group, covering a number of topics including digital terrestrial TV, HDTV, pay-TV services, set-top boxes, IPTV and digital rights management. Prior to that, he held positions as a Competitive Analyst within the Market Intelligence group at IBM/Tivoli Systems and also as a Senior Analyst within the Competitive Intelligence group at Vignette Corporation. Additionally, he has performed various independent projects for Dell, Compaq, Silicon Graphics and AT&T. He received his BS in International Business from Georgetown University and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin. Gerry McGinley
Director of Business Development
Gerry joined the company with 20 years of experience in the display industry where held positions at Taxan USA, Panasonic Industrial Company and Richardson Electronics. Gerry has a strong background in global sales, marketing, product line management, channel management and strategic partnerships. Most recently at Richardson Electronics, he held senior level positions within the Display Systems Group. He led the company into key acquisitions of Pixelink and Image Systems, establishing Richardson as a premier provider of displays and integration for specialty vertical markets. At Panasonic Industrial Company, Gerry held various sales and marketing positions, developing the OEM display business for Matsushita monitor and CRT factories in the US. He has traveled extensively in North America, Europe and Asia and has an excellent knowledge of the global display supply chain and related sales channels. Calvin Hsieh
Research Director for TV Electronics
Calvin joined DisplaySearch with more than ten years experience. Calvin was Product Marketing Director of Proview Electronics, one of the biggest LCD monitor and TV makers in the world. He was responsible for product marketing of their own-brand monitor business included Xerox-licensed brand. Then he was assigned to take charge of product marketing and roadmap of LCD TV business. Prior to Proview, Calvin worked as a team manager of the project management for HannSpree (a TV company from HannStar). Previously, he worked in software development and electronic commerce. Calvin received his Masters degree from National Chiao-Tung University where he spent two years researching HCI, human-computer interaction and GUI user interface. Shawn Feddeler
Business Development Manager (Europe)
Shawn joined DisplaySearch from our parent company, NPD, with more than 10 years of market research experience in consumer technology and various other industries. Prior to joining DisplaySearch, Shawn managed the Audio/Video client development team for the Consumer Technology group where he worked to partner with NPD’s largest clients. Prior to joining NPD, Shawn was a consultant for The Gallup Organization working on market research projects in various industries in the areas of product development, customer satisfaction and maximizing ROI. Shawn will be responsible for managing the sales and marketing activities for DisplaySearch in Europe. He received his BS in Business Administration from the University of Scranton and holds an MBA from Wake Forest University. Glenda S. McKinney
Editorial Manager
An experienced technical writer and editor, Glenda was at Texas Instruments for six years as a programmer and technical writer, mostly involved with graphics for their Artificial Intelligence workstation. While at TI, she was also responsible for assisting key customers, developing a users' group, training field analysts and providing product support. Heather Boudreau
Marketing and Events Specialist
Heather joined DisplaySearch from our parent company, NPD, with more than eight years of marketing and events experience. Prior to NPD, Heather worked at Margolin, Winer & Evens LLP, a mid-size New York based accounting firm as a Marketing Manager overseeing the advertising, marketing and event planning for the firm. She has also worked as Marketing and Communications Manager for a non-profit Media liaison group as well as a Special Events Director for the American Cancer Society. Heather will be responsible for directing DisplaySearch’s US conferences as well as managing the company’s website and communications distribution. Patrick Maki
Sales Account Executive
Patrick came to DisplaySearch with over ten years of relationship sales experience within the technology, recycling and tourism industries. Prior to coming on board, he spent four years at Dell, Inc. in both new account acquisition as well as in existing account retention and development within the Corporate Affiliates space. Most recently, he drove new retail business development in the Northeastern USA regions, focusing on the Point of Sale and Digital Signage markets. Fumi Ishimatsu
Data Manager
Fumi joined DisplaySearch in September 2003. Previously, she was a programmer, who also provided technical support at a subsidiary of Kyusyu Electric Power Company in Japan, which employs over 20,000. She was a MS Office instructor for several years, and now combines her experience and training to create and maintain databases for DisplaySearch. Fumi is fluent in Japanese and English and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Information Systems from St. Mary's University, San Antonio, Texas. Lisa Potthoff
Data Manager (Houston)
Lisa has several years of experience in data analysis, manipulation and conversion, as well as experience in systems analysis and consulting. Her experience was gained through many years of employment with a Big Five accounting firm and a state and local tax software company. Anthony Tinnin
Data Processing
Previously, Anthony worked as the Marketing and Financial Analyst for Geotrace Technologies, advising on financial diversification models as well as aiding with client acquisition and product presentation strategies. He also worked as a Risk Analyst on the commodities trading floor at Reliant Energy. There, Anthony streamlined corporate statistical processes while enhancing information manipulation capacity. Immediately following college, Anthony served as Chair of the Department of Mathematics at George I. Sanchez High School in Houston, Texas. Jinny Park
Senior Manager of Korean Market Research
Jinny was previously at MindBranch Asia Pacific, a market research aggregator, where she was an Account Manager on their Market Intelligence Team. There, she was in charge of sales and marketing for such research firms as DisplaySearch, Lyra Research, CAP Ventures, Portelligent and Strategy Analytics. Ms. Park also has experience in organizing events, including OLEDs 2003, Wireless LAN Conference (2002), China Wireless Market (2002). She holds a B.S. degree in Material Science and Engineering from Korea University in Seoul and has also attended the University of Western Australia. Office Manager (Taiwan)
Elaine is in charge of internal sales, account management and administrative support in Taiwan. Elaine has more than 10 years experience in the display industry, with a focus on logistical support. This experience includes five years in the sales office at Sharp Taiwan and another five years at HannStar Display. While at HannStar, she gained expertise in ERP (Enteprise Resource Planning) and was the key user of its ERP system. Elaine holds a degree from Shih-Chien College. Jelly Zhang
Analyst
Jelly Zhang joined DisplaySearch with several years of contract editing and tracking and office administration at Chiaphua, a HK-invested home appliances maker. Jelly joined DisplaySearch in 2005 as an office manager who was in charge of daily operations of Shenzhen Office, events operations, data collection and integration, and article translation. She is now responsible for small/medium display market research including TFT LCD, TN/STN, OLED display technologies in China, covering mobile phone, PDA, PDVD, MP3/MP4/PMP, DPF, GPS, automobile display, office and industrial applications. Vi joined the DisplaySearch Houston office in September 2007.
